Dermal Fillers

How do they work?

Fillers (such as Juvederm) are made of a naturally occurring substance called hyaluronic acid, which hydrates and plumps the skin by improving its ability to retain water. Over time, the body loses hyaluronic acid and the skin starts to sag and forms wrinkles and folds. Fillers replace the lost hyaluronic acid to restore volume and shape. The fillers are available in syringes and are gently injected into the areas of the face where they are needed.

Juvederm fillers are injected with tiny needles and contain a local anaesthetic (Lidocaine 0.3%), so that the treatments are almost painless.

Are there side effects

Hyaluronic acid fillers are safe and fully reversible. There may be some localised redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising but these tend to be very mild and temporary. As with all injections, there is a risk of infection, but this is very rare. More serious side effects and allergic-type reactions are extremely rare.

""I suffered from tennis elbow for nearly 8 months which impacted my training at the gym. After consulting with Sophie, she advised the best treatment would be shockwave therapy.  It was the best decision I ever made, after 6 sessions I was almost as good as new. Would highly recommend Sophie and her team. ""
